When our school board did the same thing, our media specialists presented
detailed lists of the tasks that were performed by the positions to be cut
(they were assistant positions) and the time spent doing them. They then
outlined how their teaching activities would be curtailed without the
assistants. They saved 5 of 5 positions.

It's always a safe bet that people don't know what you do. Spell it out for
them, in terms of teaching, collaborating, innovation, and collection
maintenance and how much time you spend doing those things. Get your
teachers to speak up with stories of accomplishments their students
couldn't have achieved without you.
