Rich by Nikki Grimes is a short chapter book in which the main character befriends a girl in a homeless shelter. Hunger not a main theme but touched on.

Great Joy by Kate DiCamillo has a girl and her mother give a meal to a homeless organ grinder.

Stone Soup is a great story about coming together to feed a village where not everyone has enough, but food pooled together makes a meal for all.
