[ISLMA-Share] The Contender by Lipstyle (OK for middle school?)

[Email list for the Illinois School Library Media Association]

Hi all!

Can anyone let me know if they think "The Contender" by Robert Lipstyle is
appropriate for a "naive" 6th grader?

I read it in grad school but not with that young of an audience in mind.

Can't get recent enough reviews of it to be able to tell.
