My 2nd grade library curriculum mostly consists of exploring different
genres. I created a "Genre Check Out Challenge" students can choose to
participate in throughout the school year. I keep their check out challenge
sheets and get them out each week when their class comes to library for
check out. They write down the title of the book they check out from each
genre. If they complete the sheet then they get to pick a free book from my
book bin. I use my Scholastic Dollars from Book Fair credit to purchase the
free books.
