I have done 1 box for a whole class and each group has to do a different task to get the combination for a different lock. So one group had the directional lock, one had the 4 digit lock etc.

Today, I did 2 boxes - class split into 2 groups both doing the same activities. As Kathy said, it's a LOT of work to set it all up, so I found it easiest to have both groups doing the same activities. This time, I just put a file folder with 6 different tasks - 4 of which led to combinations of locks. So even though the kids had the same tasks, they did them in different orders and I don't even know if they realized they were the same tasks. It really went well.

I am finding though, that the kids solve things quicker than I expect them to. I thought the activity would take 35 min. and it only took about 20.

Dear all,
I have a question for those of you who have used the BreakOUT kits. I have five kits, so should I have five different games set up? Or should the whole class just do the same game in small groups? Or should the whole class do the entire kit with different parts?
