Are you feeling a bit burned out as the school year winds down? Who doesn't need a few new teaching and programming ideas for motivating yourself, your students and your staff?

Register now for this invigorating session at: https://sites.google.com/illinois.edu/ischoolui-summergetaway/home, and bring a friend! Don't delay; registration is closing soon!

Join us on Tuesday, June 13th from 9:00 - 4:00 PM at Summer Getaway 2017: PD for School Librarians, hosted by the K-12 licensure office at the iSchool of Illinois. #SG17 gives you the opportunity to learn from two enthusiastic teacher-librarians, Liz Delzell & Allison Bava, and your fellow practitioners as they generously share ways they are successfully teaching the 4Cs: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity in an unconference format. Both presenters began their careers as classroom teachers, and they know the challenges you face, from curriculum integration on a fixed schedule at the elementary level to connecting readers, technology and information literacy at the secondary level.

The last hour of the day will be an invigorating discussion led by iSchool professor, Nicole Cooke, on the "hot topic" of fake news. What do K-12 students need to know about credible and unreliable news articles? How does this topic fit into an information literacy curriculum? Named an ALA "Mover and Shaker" in 2007, Dr. Cooke is the recipient of multiple awards for her research and teaching on diversity.
