[ISLMA-Share] School books ending up at public libraries

[Email list for the Illinois School Library Media Association]

We are in a local consortium with 3 public libraries.  I encourage our students to return books to the school library but if they happen to return them to the public library, that’s fine with me and I stop by and pick them up.  I daily go to my public library as our ILS van delivery is scheduled there.  Public library drop off is great for kids that withdraw and still have library materials.  They don’t have to come to the school and face peers or staff yet the books come back.  ☺  win-win.

Our public library emails me when books have been mistakenly returned to them. I call our maintenance department and they send our district courier (the white van) to pick them up.
