[ISLMA-Share] biography organization

[Email list for the Illinois School Library Media Association]

That’s exactly what we did, and they circulate so much more now.  Kids rarely looked at biographies, but they prowled the nonfiction section.  We just have a translucent green sticker over the call number and that means it’s a biography.

We have talked about moving them to the section that they are known for by Dewey (athletes in the 700s, astronauts in the 500s, etc.) with a colored label so they stand out for biography-based projects.

If you have your biographies organized in a manner that is NOT alphabetical by the person the biography is about, can I ask you what categories you use?  For example, I want to put artists together, scientists, etc, but I have too many already I don't know where to put, telling me that i'm missing some important categories.
