As part of an ISLMA presentation, I gave last fall I curated a resource that listed both fiction and non-fiction books being read in IL high schools across several disciplines. You are welcome to peruse the resource to see if there are titles that may meet your needs.

Subject: [ISLMA-Share] historical novel

Good morning,
A Dual Credit history teacher asked me for novel ideas that focus on anything from 1920 - present. The English department teaches To Kill a Mockingbird, so we thought possibly doing something cross-curricular. We also brainstormed Animal Farm because we already have a enough books or Born on the 4th of July to relate to the Vietnam War.

Do any of your schools have a great cross-curricular unit you'd like to share, or any ideas that focus on both the literature and the historical background? Thank you in advanced. :)
