[ISLMA-Share] Creative names for new library

[Email list for the Illinois School Library Media Association]

I'm absolutely a library/librarian person.  I've never really understood
why schools feel a compelling need to call the library something else (and
so many variations in the name have come and gone!).  Public libraries are
still libraries even though they look nothing like libraries in the past.

And an interesting note--we tried for a referendum (didn't pass) which
included a new "media "center" (I argued against that choice but got shot
down).  We're trying again--but I see in the revised plans that the space
is now labeled "library."  My guess--they got feedback from people who
didn't have a clue what a new "media center" even was.
