[ISLMA-Share] District with NO Library Media Specialist

It is happening elsewhere. I retired in June 2016 from an elementary
library after 31 years. The previous 2 years, the middle school librarian
and high school librarian retired. The middle school and high school have
aides or study hall teachers in the library. The elementary started the
year with only an aide while the teacher assigned taught RtI. In mid
November, the art teacher proposed she take the K-2 classes every afternoon
so they are getting some library/art lessons. Grades 3-5 still have an aide
who basically reads to them before checking out books. I had collected
"data" on circulation, additions, weeding and inventory value through
Destiny and went to the new superintendent. He was concerned about the
$500,000 investment and said he'd be asking questions but no promises. Good
