A great one to begin the with would be an allegory called The Terrible Thing by Eve Bunting.

Subject: [ISLMA-Share] Holocaust picture books

Good Afternoon,
I am looking for picture books to use with my 8th graders next week when they have their Holocaust Immersion week.

I'm specifically looking for are stories about victims other than the Jews, including Gypsies, Russians, Poles and other slavs, and people with physical or mental disabilities; Also Jehovah's Witnesses, homosexuals, the dissenting clergy, Communists, Socialists, asocials, and other political enemies.

Thank you in advance for your help.
