I have not really used Symbaloo, so I don’t know much about that system, other than it appears to just be a page where you can put icons with links to web sites. LibGuides is probably more similar to LiveBinders. On LibGuides, you basically create web pages, using pre-formatted modules to add content to your pages. You can have text, documents, links to websites, books from your catalog, embedded videos and RSS feeds, and more. I use it to organize general online resources for our students, including access to our databases, and create pages for classes and/or assignments. I love it! It is easy to use, and LibGuides has a robust community of schools and colleges where you can search for topics to find ideas and templates. Most people are pretty open to sharing their content (other than subscription databases, of course).

Feel free to browse around my main page: http://libguides.naperville203.org/NCHSResearchLinks and also look at the ‘Class Links’ tab on it.

Subject: [ISLMA-Share] Libguides versus symbaloo

Our school is interested in these two things. One is free and one is not. Can anyone who has experience with both tell me the differences between the two? Thanks in advance!
