Hello!  I would like to draw on the collective wisdom of the group.
I have a kindergartener who just lost his grandfather after a hospital stay.  They were close and did a lot together.  The boy's mother is asking for books.
I recall a picture book about a boy and his grandfather and all the activities that they did together.  The boy ended up drawing pictures and putting them up in the hospital room.  I cannot find this book.  I also cannot recall if the grandfather died in the book.  But I believe the drawing pictures helped the boy keep the memories alive.
Can anyone recall this book?  Can anyone recommend any other gentle books for a sensitive little boy?
Thank you in advance for your help,Cherie HeaserLibrarianHickory Point SchoolNorthbrook, IL
