Morning, everyone.
I have hosted Shelfie contests, posting the nominees on the webpage as well as posted in the library. Winners won free ARCs of their choice from the pile I always seem to accumulate.

I also have all my struggling reader and freshmen English classes use the Lincoln list as their outside reading book choices. Each teacher sets it up a bit differently, some requiring book reviews, others presentations. I make sure that if each kid gives me a review in our Destiny catalog for every book they read from the list they are eligible for a raffle in March when the voting happens. If they read and review all 20 titles, they automatically win a monetary prize. It’s not much but its cash and they love that.

Hope that helps a bit.

Subject: [ISLMA-Share] Lincoln Award Incentives

Good Monday morning!

I know this has been talked about before, but I'm really trying to promote the Lincoln Award next year and I want to start planning now (so I'm not stressed about it this summer!). Does anyone have any fun, great ideas on ways to promote reading the Lincoln books? I know many people have talked about successful programs in the past... I just can't remember them now! 😊

I'm also trying to promote more reading for fun in general, so any ideas on how to create a larger culture of readers in a high school would also be appreciated.

Thanks so much for your help!! 📚
