[ISLMA-Share] LSTA- Call your reps if they haven't signed

ALA is now concentrating on the U.S. Senators with a deadline of Friday,
May 19.  As of this morning, Senator Durbin has not signed either letter
for LSTA or IAL. Senator Duckworth has signed the letter of support for
LSTA but not IAL.

Please contact both Senators Durbin and Duckworth. Ask Sen. Durbin to sign
both letters of support. Senator Duckworth needs to be thanked for her
support of LSTA and asked to support IAL.

FYI-- The Innovative Approaches to Literacy (IAL) is the ONLY federal grant
that directs at least half of the grant funds to school libraries . It is a
competitive grant administered by the US Department of Education for
providing literacy activities for at-risk children and their families. The
grant has been around since 2012 and has funded over 100 literacy grants to
nonprofit organizations and school libraries.
