[ISLMA-Share] Teacher/ Staff Self Check Out

I started it this year, and my staff has embraced it for the most part.


Here's how I did it:

   1. I set up a staff self checkout station with a second scanner.
   2. I made a document with directions and I printed two sets of staff
   cards. One I keep by the self-checkout station, and the other I gave to
   them.
   3. I made a special login for teacher checkout so that they don't have
   access to cataloging, just checkout. I did make it so that if they have
   books overdue they can still check out.


I just sent an email with instructions. In the fall, I'm hoping to talk to
them at in-service because I did have a few teachers who decided not to
read my email and just took books all year.

But, it was sooooo much better for me than to have a written list that I
had to keep up with daily. To me it was worth having slightly inaccurate
statistics to not have to deal with the teacher sign out that we had in
years past.

I'm attaching my self checkout instructions. Feel free to adapt it as you
want.
