I have an Ultimaker 2+ and it works great. I also just got a smaller MakerBot Replicator mini, but have not been able to get it working yet. I think it might have a fan that isn’t connected correctly.

Students are using the Ultimaker for personal projects as well as class projects. It has been great to see them trouble shoot errors and bad designs. So far, we haven’t had entire classes trying to print at the same time, so we’ve been able to keep up. It is somewhat time consuming, especially when things don’t work as expected. However, I have some students really help in the trouble shooting area, which is awesome! They know more than I do. I have some information on my library page<https://www.naperville203.org/Page/6287>. The students can use Tinkercad on their Chromebooks, and then we have a PC that has CURA on it to convert the design code to the gcode for the printer. MakerBot works with their program on the PC. Feel free to contact me directly.

I was just at a BER Makerspace workshop and this model came highly recommended by a participant. He has 7 of them he checks out to individual teachers.

I've been hesitant to buy one because of the issues that come along - jamming, time of printing, having just one in a school when 40 kids want to print....

But he swears by this model:

I hope this helps! Sorry I don't have first hand experience to share. The jury is still out for me on the benefit of having a 3-D printer for me!
