[ISLMA-Share] K-2 author visit for fall 2018 ideas and sharing

[Email list for the Illinois School Library Media Association]

Sherri Rinker, author of *Goodnight, Goodnight, Contruction Site *and other
books, is a great presenter and is local. She recently wrote *Big Machines,* a
biography of Virginia Lee Burton, author of *Mike Mulligan and His Steam
Shovel. *I had her as a free visit through Anderson's. I don't know what
she charges. She wonderful to work with. I have had her twice. The teachers
thought she was one of the best presenters we have had. I have only had her
for K-3.

I second the recommendation of Candace Fleming. Any grade level can have
her, though middle school. She connects with students of all ages. She
focused on her nonfiction book *Giant Squid* for 4th and 5th and talked
about how she does research.
