[ISLMA-Share] Questions about LibGuides

I use LibGuides as well, and in addition to what everyone else has said, I'll add:

*         Even if you have a CMS, it is easier to create a guide that is used by several teachers/classes than a 'class' that you have to share with teachers or enroll students.

*         I love the LibGuides community!  I almost always start there to get ideas when starting a new guide, especially on a topic I don't know well.

I have just recently converted to Version 2.  I like that you can any kind of content to each box.  Downsides are that the link checker is not sortable by guide, and I've had some formatting things to clean up.

I would also like to sing the praises of LibGuides.  It is such a helpful tool for students, and it has been the catalyst for collaboration opportunities with teachers I don't always get to work with.  I like that there are multimedia options so that I can include videos of tutorials for the different resources.  It's also been great as an advocacy tool.  I can show admin the data from the guides.  And I have even sent out links to parents for guides to summer reading, which they have found to be very impressive.

I truly think the LibGuides are worth every penny.

Totally worth it! It's changed that way that I teach, and now I couldn't do without it. Typically I make a guide for every research assignment that I teach. It's easy to use and very flexible.

I am interested in investing in LibGuides for our library. I know it's pricey, but the idea is fantastic!

For those of you who already use LibGuides at your school, I am looking for any pros or cons you may have?? Does your data show them to be beneficial?  Have the numbers grown as you've added guides, or was it a great curation tool when it was hot, and now the numbers are stagnant?? Do you love it? Is it not worth it?
