Thanks for all of the good ideas.  I had no idea about the Junior Library Guild connection, so I'll look into that or the NEA discount.   I really appreciate the feedback.

There has always been a significant discount offered on School Library Journal through Junior Library Guild if you have a subscription with them. I have always found this to be a worthwhile investment.

I just received notification from my magazine subscription service that School Library Journal is significantly raising it's subscription rates for single site use.  I am the librarian for a small rural school district and don't have the option of choosing the multi-site subscription rate.  It has been my primary tool for collection development for the last several years, so I find myself in a bit of a pickle.  What other tools/sites do the rest of you use for collection development recommendations that don't break your budgets?  Thanks in advance.
