[ISLMA-Share] Author Visit Advice

I've seen him, he's awesome! To prep the students I always try to read just
a bit of whatever is the newest book ( if possible) or at least have a
sample of books to show the kids in preparation.  I also try to show
his/her bio so the kids kind of "know" a bit about the author.

Another good thing to do with the "littles" is to try to stress how to be a
good audience member... no getting up to get drinks or go to the
bathroom... etc.  I also have them practice what a question is compared to
something you want to tell the author.  When they are really little they
like to tell things... could take up a lot of your q and a time!  With some
of the older kids I might even have them write down a question on a note
card so they don't forget their really good questions!

He does a bit of drawing so you'll need to be prepared for that...
