I am a big fan of music in the media center... I find the easiest to play
is the radio. I am fortunate enough that the university radio station is
extremely eclectic. If the students don't like the genre of the current
song, the next will be different. I have found in the 9 or so years I have
been playing music in the media center the path of least resistance is a
huge mix of tunes. WEIU plays oldies, classic rock, country, top forty,
pop so most kids are pleased by it. I would stray away from a constant
stream of the same thing. When I was in an area of the state that a mix
couldn't be found on one radio station, I changed radio stations by the day
(country one day and top 40 the next) As I am sitting here typing this a
student is tapping his foot to Rock me Gently by Andy Kim... My suggestion
would be a no on only Christmas carols
