[ISLMA-Share] Boolean Search Help

[Email list for the Illinois School Library Media Association]

Yep! Part of the lesson is showing them the advance search. I was just looking for suggestions for specific examples using a NOT  search using DACA, North Korea, and the Rohingya crisis to make the sample searches more relevant for them. I’m blanking on good terms to use right now.  Thanks!

Are you using the advance search interface?  Or are you using symbols.  The symbol for not is a negative sign in front of the search term…the advance search interface does a really good job of the same thing.

Hi all,

I am doing some Google News tips and Boolean searching strategies with a high school Current History class tomorrow. They have been researching DACA, North Korea, and the Rohingya crisis as a class, so I'm hoping to tie into what they already know. I'm having trouble coming up with a good example for using the NOT Boolean search strategy. Can anyone give me a good example using one of those topics to try?
