Subject: Re: [ISLMA-Share] Literary Magazine

This thread is motivating me to organize something similar for our Princeville Jr. Sr. High School, grades 6-12. Last Feb., the library held a poetry and prose contest that drew some great submissions. In addition, the art classes created zentangle designs to serve as illustrations. The contest and book was very well-received, but I wasn't thrilled with the quality of the images in our StudentTreasures.com published books. Thus, the idea of a digital format sounds more appealing and perhaps easier, too.
Our tech dept. suggested two different directions to pursue for the digital format: lucidpress.com<http://lucidpress.com> or google slides.
MY QUESTION: Does anyone have familiarity with either or both to share the positive or negative aspects of these?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My English department is hoping to start a Lit Magazine at our high school and are looking for ideas for organization, selection, policies, etc. from other schools that do this. We are probably going to go digital only because we don't have a budget for printing yet, but we would like to be able to have a small print run at some point in the future.

If your school has a Lit Magazine, and you have a copy to mail me or link to send me, I would really appreciate it. We want to be able to show students some examples to illustrate what the possibilities are.

If you have any information to share that might help us, you can send it to me off list at lochs at ms.k12.il.us<mailto:lochs at ms.k12.il.us><mailto:lochs at ms.k12.il.us<mailto:lochs at ms.k12.il.us>>.
