Thinking of your theme... possibly a good tie in novel might be *Prisoner
of Night and Fog* by Anne Blankman (from last year's Lincoln List).  The
main character has to grapple with the power that Adolf Hitler holds over
her own family and her new world views after teaming up with a Jewish
reporter.
