I've been selling coffee and refrigerated waters and flavored waters (like
ICE) for 3 years now. I use the monthly delivery from Amazon for coffee
and supplies and yes I charge $1 too. The coffee is not money maker. The
water is definitely the money maker. Also sold for $1. ICE costs me $1
and I sell it for $1.25. I used to do supply runs to Walmart and Sams but
it was a hassle. Make a spreadsheet and chart out the costs and what you
want to make on the product. Then mark up as needed. My administration
saw it as a reward for good grades but I sell to everyone before and after
school. Water is sold at anytime. We buy hot chocolate, spiced apple
cider, vanilla cappuccino (Grove Square--24 count--$.50 each but on
subscription save 15% and then its $.47 ea.) I buy the supplies at Amazon
too. I make enough money that I have quit fines for the library. The very
students who griped the loudest about paying an overdue fines, line up
several times a week to pay for cappuccino and ICE drinks. Go figure! The
library is in a win-win situation. The students like coming in and getting
cool drinks and they don't gripe anymore about the fines.
