I work in a PK-8 elementary school in Chicago and I only had $500 this year
and last year. This is a 50% decrease from previous years. While I get an
additional $250 allotted to me through the Chicago Teachers' Union, that
money is used to purchase supplies, including what I need for book repair,
rather than books.
