[ISLMA-Share] emailing overdue notices in Destiny

[Email list for the Illinois School Library Media Association]

Here are the steps:

1. go to library reports
2. select current checkouts/fines under circulation
3. scroll to bottom, go to set up a new report or notice
4. select which checked out/overdue materials you would like included
5. under format, *select email to homerooms*
6. select continue
7. this will bring you to the limit page where you can select the patron
types (staff, students, faculty) you want the overdue notice to go to. you
can also choose the graduation year***
8. continue to final page
9.here you can choose to send to all homerooms or choose only certain
homerooms***
10. click on save setup
11. you will be prompted to save your report "save as"
12. here you can also schedule your report:
        option to choose: do not schedule: if you want to manually go in an
run the report
        OR choose daily or weekly: which will automatically send out the
overdues as scheduled

*** depending on how big your school is and how many overdues you will be
sending out at once, you may want to limit who you are sending out the
overdues to at a given time (given report).  Destiny has a limit that it
can handle -- I think it's about 70 emails. So, we have a report for each
grade (6th, 7th, 8th -- chosen by graduating year) because a lot of times
we have more than 70 overdues at one time.
