Was it Memory Boy by Weaver that used a sail car to escape the city in this dystopian/disaster novel? I read it years ago and I’m not positive if it was this title or a different one.

Sincerely,

I am working on an electricity unit and I found 2:

Zap! by Freeman, Martha
Eleven-year-olds Luis and Maura investigate the cause of a long-term, city-wide power outage in Hampton, New Jersey. Includes facts about electric power and instructions for assembling an emergency kit.

Fourth dimension by Walters, Eric
While preparing for a long weekend camping with her mother and brother, Emma becomes concerned when a series of power outages escalate to a massive blackout that halts travel and communication.
