[ISLMA-Share] PD Book Study Suggestions

[Email list for the Illinois School Library Media Association]

I've participated in two this year, and I'm setting up a third study for
the summer.  Here is what we used:

*Ghost * by Jason Reynolds was used with middle school and elementary
school teachers because it was our community-wide read this winter, and it
develops empathy for students who may be struggling.

*Mindset* by Carol Dweck has been used in a couple of our buildings.

I am planning a gender study this summer to look at issues of transgender,
agender, gender fluid, etc.  Those are *The 57 Bus* by Dashka Slater, *Lily
& Dunkin* by Donna Gephart, and *Gracefully Grayson* by Ami Polonsky.
