I agree.  I prefer the regular OverDrive app.  Most students here just read the book in their browsers, so it won’t be too much of an issue.  The rep did say that users should still be able to link to additional libraries (i.e. your local public library), but I haven’t tested that out yet.

Good Morning,

I am struggling with switching over to Overdrive's new educational app. I don't see the point of it.

Does anyone have any insight on this that could shed some light on the transition? I am at a high school, so maybe I am not seeing the benefits for older students. The interface is very juvenile.

To me, the layout and interface is not as user friendly as the Overdrive App.

There are just so many little nuances that don't flow together, especially the fact that our Destiny catalog Marc records link the e-books to the regular Overdrive site. Students would then have to go to a different APP to open up.

I do understand that the app coincides with Google Classroom, however most of our Overdrive Collection is used for pleasure reading. At this point we don't have the funding to purchase class set E-Books.
