[AISLE-Share] Evaluating results from a database?

I tell students and teachers that you can trust the databases and therefore
do not have to apply the CRAAP test. BUT, you do have to read critically
and pay attention to the document type. Databases include Op-Ed articles,
blogs, information from biased sites, etc. but unlike general Internet
sites, the databases openly state that the information is from an
editorial, blog, or specifically for one side or the other of a
controversial issue. If the students do not know, for example, that PETA is
very pro-animal, then the student needs to research the group or ask me.
The researcher (student) always needs to be critical and discerning. I
include this is my lessons, especially for the juniors and seniors who are
working on more critical and evaluative research projects. This is how I
address your question because as with most research it is "Yes, BUT...."
