Hi Staci,
“The Omnivore’s Dilemma” by Michael Pollan might be good. It discusses conventional (feed-lot) farming, small pasture farming, and forging/hunting.

Other ones that came to mind but I have not read are “The Story of Seeds” by Nancy Castaldo and “The Farm on the Roof” by Anastasia Cole Plakias

Subject: [AISLE-Share] HS book recommendation: Farming?

I have a student who is interested in farming and looking for a good fiction (could be non-fiction too) book about farming for his independent reading. He is a currently a HS junior. Any body have ideas?

Thanks,
Staci
