[AISLE-Share] Collaboration Tables

[Email list for the Association of Illinois School Library Educators]

We have two of these spaces. They are both used daily by full classes and
by students who opt to use them on their own. I use them for video gaming,
coding, book club, and other programs. We also set up two small group rooms
with similar tables/monitors/connections. Please let me know if there is
anything else you'd like to know.

We have a lab with 5 collaboration tables in our library (see below). We
purchased fancy tables with built-in cord systems about 5 years ago. The
tables were expensive and the connections were spotty. We have since
removed the original cords and instead pulled an extra long HDMI cord
through the table - students connect their Chromebooks to the TV from that
cord in the box in the middle of the table. We also have an HDMI port on
the wall that allows the teacher or presenter to project to all 5 TVs at
once. The ability to take control of all 5 TVs at once is a nice feature
that we use often.

Our Incubator classroom (see below) has similar tables with TVs mounted to
the wall. The HDMI cord/Apple connection cord hangs from the side of the
TV. It works the exact same way and was much less expensive
