[ISLMA-Share] Kindergarten Library Books

Mine take their books home.

At one school all students K-2 have a jumbo ziplock bag with their name and class code on it. They return the books in the bag and are to keep the books in the bag when not reading (though we’ve had parents take the bags and use the bags to marinate dinner or pick up dog poop and the child has asked for a new one).

I have less help at my other school, preK-2, so all students take their books home but no bags (requires sorting, storing, etc.) but result is more books ruined by accidental spills in back packs.

I do have students who on occasion are not allowed to take their books home (repeatedly severely damage books or loose books and parents no longer want them to check out)…these students keep their books in their desks and love that they are still able to check out.

Hello!

For those of you who check out books to kindergarten students, do they:

1. Take their library books home.

2. Take their library books home but in a library bag/ziplock bag with their name on it.

3. Keep their library book at school.

Thanks
