Next year we will be fully 1:1 with Chromebooks. I don't know what your
study hall policies look like, but for us, students can choose to come to
the library for study hall. We let in only a certain number of students
per period, and the rest will go to the study hall room. We scan their IDs
for attendance and are expected to follow expectations of the area of the
library in which they choose to work (such as we have designated group
study and quiet areas). We are also open to students before and after
school and during lunch (but they can't eat in the library). Because of
this choice of place to work for study hall, we have a fairly consistent
number of students in the library all day long. I don't know if this would
be something you could try, but it definitely gets our students into the
library maybe more than they normally would!
