[ISLMA-Share] Follett Bookfair

We are having one right now. Set up is much easier. There is less "junk".
The books inside boxes are already set up in a display rack, so you just
pull out the display rack. Registers are wonderful. They don't do too much
restocking. Instead, if you run out of an item they allow kids to pay for
book and it is then shipped to the school to be delivered to that
particular student. Most teachers have really liked the selection of
chapter books better, although not particularly the picture books. There
are several older classics (lots of Dr. Seuss, etc.). There are many
National Geographic titles that have gone over well. They allow you to give
a 20 percent discount to your staff and volunteers, but it does lessen your
total profit by 20 percent. You may take 50 percent of your profit from the
fair or get a 30 percent Follett card, or 20 percent cash. They don't have
the fun videos like Scholastic does to introduce the fair (yet). Hopefully
that will be coming. Let me know if you have specific questions and I could
also show you a few pictures.
