[ISLMA-Share] Reference Section

[Email list for the Illinois School Library Media Association]

Our reference section has dictionaries, thesaurus, a set of encyclopedias
and many other expensive books purchased before our school went 1:1 with
Chromebooks. Many reference books have been weeded out when we moved to a
new location, but I didn't have the heart to completely abolish the
concept.
However, NO ONE utilizes our reference books anymore. One student didn't
even know what an encyclopedia was!  Someday, when I have nothing to do
with my time, I will clear out those shelves and make space for items that
will circulate. For now, the nice books look decorative, but that's all.
Barring an internet meltdown, I don't foresee attention going their way.
