[ISLMA-Share] Music Copyright Question

Here is a question for you copyright experts out there.  After a recent
building renovation, our music department is short on storage for print
copies of their music.  We are wondering if it is legal to digitally copy
files for our own storage to print off when needed.  I know that we cannot
print more copies than we own, but can we even scan a digital back-up?  Do
you need to contact each vendor to inquire about permissions?
