Box them and take them to SCARCE ( School & Community Assistance for
Recycling and Composting Education). Usable books and educational materials
will be made available for other educators. Books that are too old may be
composted. There is a list of the kinds of tools they need on the sheet.
Things to keep in mind:

   - Hours: weekdays 9 am--4:30 pm

   - Some Saturdays (next ones June 9 and July 14) from 9 am--12 pm

   - Everything must be boxed--NO BIG BOXES--they do have to carry them,
and you might be asked to help.

   - For donations of 10+ boxes, you need to make an appointment. I called,
and their next appointment was in July.

   - They take books in any condition, but to save you time, if you KNOW
that some books are musty or way to old, see if your recycle program takes
books, and if they do, just wheel them out to the dumpster.

   - Getting to their door is a bit confusing, and they state on their
website that *Apple Maps takes you to the wrong side of Roosevelt.* It
will seem like you are simply going into a parking lot. The entrance is in
the back, and the parking lot is broken up a bit. I just went last week,
and there were some construction sawhorses, so it looks like they are going
   to repair them.
