[ISLMA-Share] Classifying books about women in different fields

[Email list for the Illinois School Library Media Association]

Usually when I purchase a book about women in certain fields (i.e. sports, engineering, etc.) the call # in the MARC record is the Dewey for that field (i.e. Sports). I’m wondering if most libraries keep the titles classified this way, or change it to 920 collective biographies. What would be more intuitive for students?
