[ISLMA-Share] Companion Novel

Yummy (graphic novel) could be a companion novel based on setting (kind of a weak connection but there's a lot to unpack in Yummy that would make it a good classroom novel).

The Hate U Give seems to have similar themes of money and moving out of predominantly black communities.

March is set in the 60s, and this play debuted in '59-- might be interesting to follow up the play (which is very much about quality of life for African Americans in the mid-20th century) with a book about the civil rights movement.

Subject: [ISLMA-Share] Companion Novel

Our junior English class is currently reading A Raisin in the Sun, and they would like a companion novel to read after it. Does anyone have any suggestions of a great companion to A Raisin in the Sun?

Thanks,
Stephanie
