[ISLMA-Share] "Quiet" Rooms

We have two of these rooms. I sometimes have to remind students that they
are for collaboration and/or quiet study, but they are typically very
respectful. They are available on a first come, first served basis, so we
have kids racing here to get them first each hour. We did have one really
bad period when they were super loud and left the rooms messy, so I locked
the doors, shut off the lights inside the rooms, and put a sign on the door
letting students know that because the rooms had been misused and
mistreated, they would be closed to students for the remainder of the week.
Students were very upset but haven't mistreated them since.

Perhaps you could lock the door and barcode the key. Students who check out
the key are then given the responsibility of following protocol, and if
they don't, they aren't given the chance to check it out again? Just a
thought.
