[ISLMA-Share] Flooring Question

My library has a hallway that runs down the middle of it… The first 20 feet into my library is tile. Every footstep echoes off of it. I wish I had carpeting there. Go with the carpeting.

Sincerely,

Alan, Librarian serving Brooks Middle School

Subject: Re: [ISLMA-Share] Flooring Question

We did the carpet squares at our elementary library and LOVE them (kept a box for replacements if needed).

We're going to be doing the same at the high school where we also have a coffee bar, but we're working with the flooring people to put a "path" from the entrance to the circulation desk, to the coffee bar. The path will be laminate wood flooring and will cover the area where we see a lot of wear in carpet or, in the case of the coffee bar, don't want to deal with difficult spills.

Hi Everyone.....

I am putting this out there for my Superintendent!

I am wondering who has done the new kinds of vinyl tiles and who has done carpet....?

My administrators are concerned about the quality of sound in the space when there is no carpet.

Any one in the collective library hive have any feedback for me? Everywhere I have been there has been carpet, but we are putting in a student coffee bar and makerspace so leaning away from the carpet for the obvious reasons!

Please Please...let me know what you think!

Thanks,

Dawn
