Most of our library is carpeted with carpet squares, but our main traffic
area--the entrance/exit area and the area in front of our circulation
desk--has vinyl. There is definitely an "echo chamber" where the vinyl is,
so I have to move to the carpeted areas when speaking to a class. For that
reason, I do think the library would be very loud if most of it were vinyl
instead of carpet.
