I'm so glad you shared this. I read it, too, and felt the same way.
I'm conservative, so I felt maybe it was me being overly sensitive. :)
My 5th grader picked it up out of my school bag because it looked like a
fun read, and I promptly snatched it out of his hands!!

We ordered the book because it is on the Abe Book List for 2019. Not
sure if we will be adding the rest of the series.....

Hello all-

Has anyone read this book yet? It is marked as teen + in titlewave. I
ordered it and the rest of the series for my high school.

It was checked out and returned with a verbal challenge due to content.
My assistant sent it to me to read.

I am not very conservative. I was shocked by the language inside.
Third page f%#} you. Page 5 hell morning. Page 7 g d. Page 8 faggot.
Page 9 b^%#}.

You get the idea. Almost every page has a swear word on it or a rude
gesture.

Originally my comment to the high school was YA fiction contains some
swear words and some mild sexual situations. Hence the label. This is
on pretty much every page.

Please share your thoughts. I hate censorship. However, I don’t want to
spend next year explaining to conservative small town parents why this
book is at our HS.

Thank you
