I just ordered it and it is flying off my shelves. It was a begged for title by several students and I got it. So far, no complaints but I’ll be sure to have a good reasoning ready just in case.

I felt like it was really accurate to how kids talked, then and now.

I have read it. It's set in the 1980's and accurately represents how girls talked to each other absent adult authority. (I can say this as someone who was a teenager in that decade. Everybody thought we were sweet girls. We were, but we could swear like sailors and flipped each other off with abandon.)

Hello all-

Has anyone read this book yet? It is marked as teen + in titlewave. I ordered it and the rest of the series for my high school.

It was checked out and returned with a verbal challenge due to content. My assistant sent it to me to read.

I am not very conservative. I was shocked by the language inside. Third page f%#} you. Page 5 hell morning. Page 7 g d. Page 8 faggot. Page 9 b^%#}.

You get the idea. Almost every page has a swear word on it or a rude gesture.

Originally my comment to the high school was YA fiction contains some swear words and some mild sexual situations. Hence the label. This is on pretty much every page.

Please share your thoughts. I hate censorship. However, I don’t want to spend next year explaining to conservative small town parents why this book is at our HS.

Thank you
