[AISLE-Share] Barcode scanners

We have two scanners at the same large desk. They are USB only. We have not had any problems with interference with each other or our keyboards (one wired, one USB). Our libraries are small and this year we completed inventory by scanning the shelves with the wireless scanners and cranking up the sound on the computer. We would check when we heard a different sound. It is the fastest, and most complete inventory we have conducted in years! We did not use both scanners for inventory at the same time, so that might be a problem, but it would probably work. We were able to check out books at one computer while scanning books for inventory at the other.

Best Wishes,

Christine and Tambree,

Do your models have both Bluetooth and USB? When you use it with the USB, does it interfere with a wired keyboard? If you have Bluetooth, which would be great for doing inventory, how does it work?

Thanks!

We use a $65.00 TaoTronics wireless scanner from Amazon. However, we're using Destiny on Macs, so check for compatability.

We use Honeywell Voyager wireless scanners. So far we've been happy with them. They were about $250.

Hello All,

I need to purchase a new barcode scanner that works with both Windows and IOS. (My desktop is windows, but for inventory, I need to use a Mac). Through our ILS vendor, the cordless scanner is on sale for over $600. I can find cordless scanners online starting at $70. Has anyone purchased a barcode scanner recently? Any reviews or advice?

Thank you in advance for your help!
