[AISLE-Share] HS Student Library Assistants?

I have student aides, but they are volunteers from study hall. This year I
changed the procedures for selecting our aides, since in previous years
we've had issues of aides not following expectations or doing assigned
tasks. This year, when I went into the study halls for library orientation,
I included information about becoming an aide and had students fill out a
Google form as an application - which included a question of why they
wanted to be an aide (I wanted to weed out the students who "just wanted to
get into the library every day"). The aides process our magazines and
newspapers, check the book drop, shelve, dust, and clean and maintain
supplies in our computer labs. They only are asked to work half the period,
since it is a study hall for them, but receive community service hours for
their time.

I also have a couple students who are in vocational classes through the
special education department. They do similar tasks to my regular student
aides, but the expectation for them is that they are working the entire
time they are here.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to contact me off list!
